Moonlander Game Reflection

For my inspiration for my re-make of the Moonlander game is to do an under water theme. I want to have water in the background, with coral on the ocean floor. I want for the "moonlander" to land on platforms, which are positioned on top of the coral. Instead of a spaceship, i want the animated character that lands on the platforms to be a fish. I think the underwater idea would be a good idea, because it would be fun and very creative. I also want the "moonlander" character to be an Octopus. My inspiration for my theme are the photo below.

Barbara Krugger Photo Reflection

a. What do you see in this piece of art (describe it)?

In this photo, it shows a women with too sides, her light side and her dark side. It also means her good side and her bad side. Like all of Barbara Krugers photos, its a really strong image of a women split in half, one side light and one side dark.

b. What kind of message is the artist giving in this piece of art?

There is several ways to interpret Krugers work. This one I think is talking about how every person has a bad side and a good side. Almost like we all have an angel and a devil in us, battling each other. The angel and devil are fighting to make you chose what actions to take.

c. Do you like or dislike Kruger’s work? Why?

I actually look like and enjoy Barbara Krugers work. I like it because they have so many ways that you can think of what the message is, and that it really gets your mind thinking to what social issue she is trying to address. This one is talking about how you have basically an angel and a devil on your shoulder.

1. What I like most (overall for the 3 photos)
The thing I like most about my photos would probably have to be my Santa Monica background layer in my first photo. I also like how in that photo, the lyrics , "I remember the say when you left for Santa Monica", were formed around the car or followed the shape of the cars on the road. I also like how in that image, you can see just enough of the two layer images. I also like how the reflection of the water shows up on the Boulevard!

2. What could be improved (overall for the 3 photos)
For improvement I think that I could have added more filters, and use erasers and maybe add a few more brushes. I also think that I could have improved on my ways that I incorporated my lyrics into the photo. I also think that I could have used some more creative fonts and more creative ways to position my lyrics into the background.

3. Which picture do you think was most successful
I really enjoy my first photo that I did, the one with the background of Santa Monica. I think the background and the photo layer of me really go good together. I also think that the way I incorporated my lyrics looks really good and it blends with the photo well. The font and the colour of the lyrics is really nice too. I do like the white, black and blue photo because of the way the blue shows up in the photo, and I like the brushes I used in my black and white photo, but the photo with the Santa Monica Boulevard in the background is my most successfully produced picture.
